  • Consult with one of our board-certified dermatologists or providers online – and on your time

  • Set up an online dermatology visit for yourself, your child, or another dependent

  • Get a personalized treatment plan in 3 business days or sooner (typically in under 24 hrs)

  • Pick up appropriate prescriptions at your preferred pharmacy

  • Telehealth visits are covered by Medicare and most insurances

Instructions:

  1. Call us at (386) 256-1444 – you’ll be asked for some information to set you up for a Telehealth visit

  2. Our team will give you access to your Patient Portal by sending you an email

  3. Click on the link sent to you in your email and set your password for Patient Portal.  Make a note of the email you used and password for future reference. If you have any questions at this time about the visit feel free to ask our reception.

  4. Download the PocketPatient™ application to your mobile device

    • If you have an Apple phone, download the app

    • If you have an Android phone, *There has been a one week delay in the launch of this application for Android

    • Or search for “Modmed Telehealth” and select the application that says “PocketPatient, Modernizing Medicine”

  5. Log in to PocketPatient™ with the following information:

    • Practice or Provider URL: blueoceanderm.ema.md

    • Username: the email you used to access your Patient Portal

    • Password: the password you created for Patient Portal

  6. Once you have logged in to PocketPatient™, make sure that notifications are turned on

  7. Request an e-visit directly with the provider of your choice

  8. Answer a few questions about your current condition and submit your request

  9. Your provider will send you an appointment time for you to have an audio/video call using your mobile phone

  10. To prepare for the appointment time: 

    • Be ready to receive a call from your provider 5 minutes ahead of the designated time

    • Find a quiet, private space where you can have a confidential session with your provider 

    • Check to make sure your ringer is turned on so you hear the call come in

Q: Are Virtual Visits Only Available for Certain Conditions?
A: We can help with more than 3,000 skin, hair and nail conditions via our online dermatology care. The most common conditions we treat are acne, suspicious moles, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.

Q: Is This Service Covered by Insurance?
A: Online care is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans. 

Q: What If I Need a Skin Biopsy or In-Office Procedure?
A: If your doctor determines an in-office procedure is needed, please contact our staff to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Additional visit costs or insurance claims will apply.

Q: Are My Personal Health Information and Photos Kept Confidential?
A: Yes! Our online dermatology care platform is secure and 100% HIPAA and HITECH compliant.
